Woodworth, Kathy
Kathy Woodworth has had a lifelong interest in art, a natural talent and a desire to paint. After retiring from the corporate world, she pursued her dreams and launched her practical education and career as an artist. She’s studied with a number of Atlanta area artists in a variety of media. Her personal motif in life has always been both contemporary and strong in colors. Her work reflects her tastes, particularly her preference for impressionist and abstract artwork.
Her personal color schemes lend themselves to blues and greens as well as some very bright colors. So it was natural that much of her art would be expressed in this color palette and in mixed media, collage, and abstract design. Her work is intuitive and while she starts with a color scheme and surface determined, the art work develops as she proceeds. She believes that each person sees something different in an abstract as they view from their own life experience. Each time an abstract is viewed something new may be found. This is part of the joy of creating or owning this type of art.
Kathy is an active member of The Atlanta Artist Center and The Atlanta Collage Society and has regularly exhibited in their shows. She is also a member of the North Cobb Arts League. Her work has been included in a number of juried and other shows in the metropolitan Atlanta area including the Grandview Gallery at the Atlanta Artist Center, Binders, Perimeter College, The Ferst Center Gallery, Emory Clinic and several Atlanta and Fulton County libraries
