Reese, Shay

Shay has been "doing art" her whole life. Her formal training includes a BA in Education and an MA in Art Therapy as well as studio classes in drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking at Kent State University. She has also taken classes and workshops from Charles Reid, Mitch Lyons, Fred Graff, Maggie Price, and many others.

Shay works in a variety of media including watercolor, collage, pastel, and printmaking. She especially enjoys transparent watercolor for its unpredictability, freshness, and luminosity of color.

Becoming an Art Therapist combined Shay's love of art, psychology, and education. As an Art Therapist, she has worked with hospice patients and their families, helping them to use art "as a language."

Shay's work has been described as joyful, loose, fresh, free, impressionistic.

She has exhibited in juried shows in Georgia and Ohio and has paintings in corporate and private collections throughout the US.
