Susan Plenzick, Visual Artist/Painter

Bio
Born in Daytona Beach, Florida, Susan travelled extensively about the U.S. in her youth, which enabled in her a depth of perception, of herself and others. Having a love of creating "beautiful things", she became technically adept at illustration and was offered a scholarship for art school. Regrettably, she didn't follow that path in her education, but did take coursework in art while attending Columbus State and Kennesaw State University. She started a decorating/design business and considers herself an "asthetic alchemist", incorporating her large scale art and murals. Her largest work measured 6'x28'. She is now building a body of work in more traditional dimensions on canvas, glass and masonite board. Learning from other artists and creative people, she continues to produce imaginative pieces that synthesis a dialog between abstact patterns and modern realism. Susan currently lives in Acworth,Ga. with her wonderful husband and two cats.

Artist Statement
Paint is magic! It can create a mood, convey a message, and capture the imagination of the viewer. Like conscienceness is divides into ego, superego and id; I paint in three styles that occaissionally bleed into the others. I paint landscapes with a contemporay style that has impressionistic overtones, modern florals that are placed on a patterned/abstract background, and visionary art based on archetypal & symbolic images from dreams & myths. My focus is always the viewer, using mood and message as food for their imagination. When someone says " I love this piece because it reminds me of something dear to me or it takes me to that place", this is what feeds my soul. This is the spirit of art for me.
