Hill, Jackie
A native Tennessean, I began taking private art lessons from Mrs. Elsa Richter while in elementary school. After continuing that instruction through high school and from professors while in college, I graduated with honors from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee with two majors: political science and speech and theater arts. Three years later I received my doctorate in law from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia and practiced criminal prosecution for a decade in the metro Atlanta area, rising to the Senior Assistant District Attorney position for the Atlanta Judicial District.
Finding the schedule of a trial attorney was not compatible with raising two young children, I became a “stay-at-home mom” and now find that pursuing art has become an ideal career. Striving for realism, I work from photographs or real life and like to draw diverse subjects including landscapes, animals, still life, portraits, and anything in between. Recently elected to serve as the Vice-President of the Paulding Fine Arts Association and being an art instructor for the county, I frequently confer with other artists to gather new ideas and a fresh perspective.
